No natural drainage
The land is flat. Water goes where the grading sends it, which means the swales and the pad elevation are decisions, not defaults.

▸ The whole sequence, one contract
Site preparation for Naples builds: clearing, fill, building pad, drainage and access — one crew, one sequence, one point of contact.
How a lot becomes a build site
Site preparation is not a service you buy once — it is a sequence where every step decides what the next one costs. This is the order we work in and why each step is there.
01
We walk the parcel with your plans: access, setbacks, what stays, what goes, and where the machines can actually work without tearing up the rest of the lot.
02
We confirm what the parcel needs before anything moves — vegetation removal, right-of-way, and any protected-species survey that applies. Nothing starts on a lot that is not clear to start.
03
Vegetation, stumps and roots removed inside the approved limits. Grubbing matters: organic material left under a pad is what settles later.
04
Topsoil and organics stripped off the building area, then the subgrade is proof-rolled to find the soft spots before they become a problem under the slab.
05
Where the proof-roll finds muck, roots or unsuitable material, it comes out and gets replaced. This is the step that is invisible when it is done right and expensive when it is skipped.
06
Fill placed in lifts and compacted, not dumped and pushed. Each lift is worked to the moisture it needs so the pad holds the elevation it is built to.
07
The pad shaped to the elevation on your plan and checked, so the builder inherits a surface that matches the drawings instead of a surprise.
08
The ground shaped so water leaves the pad and the structure — flat land does not drain itself, it drains the way it is built to.
09
The route in built to carry the trucks that come next, so the first concrete delivery is not the test of whether your access works.
10
Trenching and access coordinated with the trades that follow, so the sequence after us does not start by undoing what we just finished.
11
Silt fence and site controls in place, the lot walked with you, and the ground handed off to your builder ready for the slab.
Handed off ready for the slab.
The ground here
Flat terrain with no natural fall, a water table close to the surface and a rainy season that arrives in volume. None of that is a problem if the preparation accounts for it — and all of it is a problem if it does not.
The land is flat. Water goes where the grading sends it, which means the swales and the pad elevation are decisions, not defaults.
Across much of Naples the water sits near the surface. It governs how deep you can work and what the fill has to do.
Organic pockets under an otherwise good-looking lot are common. Proof-rolling finds them before the slab does.
Summer rain arrives in quantity. Preparation that ignores the calendar is preparation that gets rescheduled.
Before anything moves
Most delays on a Naples build are decided before the first machine arrives. These are the items that set your site preparation schedule — we confirm them at the site walk.
Clearing on a single-family lot is tied to the building permit, and clearing beyond what the permit covers needs its own approval. Parcels with wetlands or in an overlay district can be limited further.
Where burrows or protected habitat are present, a survey happens before clearing and the work is planned around what the state requires. It is cheaper to find that at the walk than at the machine.
The pad has to satisfy the flood requirement for the parcel. Reaching that elevation is preparation work and belongs in the scope from day one.
Fill placed in lifts and compacted, not tipped and levelled. It is the difference between a slab that holds and a settlement crack in year three.
We submit 811 requests and verify utilities before any equipment enters the site. Every job, no exceptions.
The route in has to carry concrete trucks. It gets built for that load during preparation, not repaired after the first delivery.

Coverage
We handle site preparation across Naples from our own base here — North Naples, East Naples, the Golden Gate corridor and the estate lots inland.
Before you call
Excavation is an operation — a trench, a footing, a pond, material moved. Site preparation is the whole sequence that leaves your lot ready for a slab: clearing, stripping, fill, compaction, pad, drainage and access. If you know exactly which hole you need, you want excavation. If you need the ground ready to build on, you want this.
It comes from your existing grade and the elevation your plans and the flood requirement call for. We walk the lot and read the plan before putting a number on it — a quote given without either is a guess you pay for later.
That is the point of running it as one sequence with one crew. You get a date, the ground is handed off ready for the slab, and your builder mobilises onto a pad that matches the drawings.
Yes — clearing is step three of the same sequence. The crew that opens the lot is the crew that shapes the pad, so nothing gets lost between two contractors.
We proof-roll the subgrade to find it before the slab does. Where the ground is unsuitable it comes out and gets replaced. That step is invisible when it is done right and expensive when it is skipped.
